Solution :-

Let us assume that, Rate of railway ticket is Rs.10 and total travelers are also let 10 .

so,

→ Initial total amount recieved by railway = 10 * 10 = Rs.100 .

now,

→ New rate of ticket after increasing 30% and then reducing by 10% = 10 * (130/100) * (90/100) = Rs.11.7

also,

→ Total travelers after decreasing 8% = (10 * 92)/100 = 9.2 .

then,

→ New amount recieved by railway = 11.7 * 9.2 = Rs.107.64

therefore,

→ Overall profit = 107.64 - 100 = Rs.7.64

hence,

→ Overall profit % = (7.64 * 100) / 100 = 7.64% (Ans.)
