Let the length be x.
Therefore, perimeter = 3x
since
3x = 2(x +b)
3x = 2x + 2b
x = 2b

ratio = length:breadth
=x : b
=2b : b
=2:1

Answer:

Ratio between the length and the breadth of the plot is 2:1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given if the ratio between the length and the perimeter of a rectangle plot is 1:3, we have to find the ratio between the length and the breadth of the plot.

Let the length of rectangle be x.

Perimeter = 3x

⇒ 2(x +b)  = 3x

⇒  2x+2b =3x

x = 2b

Ratio between the length and the breadth of the plot.

Ratio = length:breadth

         =x : b

         =2b : b

         =2:1

hence, ratio is 2:1
