Answer:

50 PAISE = RS. 0.50 NO. OF RS. 0.50 COIN = 4x COST OF RS. 0.50 COIN = 4X×RS. 0.50

= RS. 2x NO. OF RS. 2 COIN = 3x

COST OF RS. 2 COIN = RS. 2x3x

= RS. 6x

NO. OF RS. 5 COIN = 2x COST OF RS. 5 COIN = RS. 5x2x

= RS. 10x

A/Q,

2x+6x+10x=396

=> 18x=396

=> x-396/18

=>.

x=22

therefore, no. of RS. 5 coin = 2x = 2 x 22 = 44

no. of RS. 2 coin = 3x = 3x22 = 66 no. of RS. 0.50 coin = 4x = 4 x 22 = 88

Concept Introduction:

In word problems we construct equation of the given variable and solve to obtain value of that given variable.

Given: Ratio of 2 rupee and 5 rupee notes is 4:5 and there are total amount is 66 rupees in the box

To Find:

We have to find the value of, 2 rupee coin in the box.

Solution:

According to the problem,

Let the two rupee coins be 4x and five rupee note be 5x then

2*4x+5*5x=66

8x+25x=66

33x=66

x=2

Final Answer:
