If the ratio of amplitudes of wave in two different
strings is 2 : 1 and frequency ratio of wave is 1:2
then ratio of power transmitted through the strings are
(1) 4:1
(2) 1:4
(3) 16:1

Ratio of power transmitted through the strings are (4) 1:1

Power transmitted by string wave can be calculated from the formula P = 1/2uvA²W².

U = mass per unit length of the string

V = wave propagation velocity

A = amplitude

W = angular frequency

Given values are A and W.

P1:P2 = A1²W1²:A2²W2²

P1:P2 = 2²*1²:1²*2²

P1:P2 = 4:4

P1:P2 = 1:1
