Q:

If the ratio of area of rectangle to its perimeter is 60:11. And length and breadth are in the ratio 6 : 5. Find length of rectangle.

A) 40 unitsB) 30 unitsC) 13 unitsD) 24 units

Answer:   D) 24 units

Explanation:

Ratio of length and breadth is 6 : 5

∴ Length = 6x

Breadth = 5x

∴ Area = l x b = 30x2

∴ Perimeter = 2 (l + b) = 2(6x + 5x) =22x

∴ (30*x*x)/(22x)= 60/11

∴ X = 4

∴ Length = 6x = 6 x 4 = 24 units

Given:-

Ratio of area of rectangle to its perimeter\implies 60:11

Ratio of length and breadth \implies 6:5

To Find:- Length of rectangle \implies ?

Solution:-

Let the length and breadth be 6 x and 5 x

so,

Area : perimeter \implies60:11

length×breadth : 2(length+breadth)\implies60:11

6x × 5x : 2(6x + 5x) \implies60:11

30x² : 22x \implies 60:11

30x : 22\implies 60:11

\frac{30x}{22} \implies \frac{60}{11}

30x\implies \frac{60×22}{11}

30x\implies 60×2

x \implies \frac{120}{30}

x\implies 4

And,

length ==> 6x ==> 6×4 ==> 24 unit
