Ratio of areas = 9 : 1

We know that area = side² and perimeter is 4 x side

So

\frac{area \: of \: first \: square}{area \: of \: second \: square}  =  \frac{9}{1}

\\\\  \frac{side \: of \: first \: square}{side \: of \: second \: square}  =  \frac{3}{1}

\\  \frac{permeter\: of \: first \: square}{perimeter \: of \: second \: square}  =  \frac{4 \times 3}{4 \times 1}  =  \frac{12}{4}  =  \frac{3}{1}

The ratio of perimeters is 3:1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sides of the small square be x,

Then it's area is x^2

The large square is 9 times the size of small square(since ratio=9:1)

Hence,area of large square=9x^2
