Let area of triangle ABC = 25X

area of triangle DEF = 36X

ar(tri ABC)/ ar(tri DEF) = (ratio of corresponding side) 2

:. ar(tri ABC) /ar (tri DEF) = ( 25X / 36X) 2

= 625x2 / 1296 x2

= 625 / 1296
