Answer:

The total surface area of a cylinder is 5,148 sq. units

Explanation:

Chapter:

  • The question is about chapter mensuration and the topic is Cylinder
  • Where we have to use all the concepts of cylinder i.e. Curved surface area, Total surface area, and volume of the cylinder.

Formula Used:

CSA of cylinder=  2πrh sq. units.

The volume of cylinder= πr^{2}h

Diameter = 2*Radius

TSA of cylinder= 2πr (h + r) Sq. units

Solution:

Given:

\frac{CSA}{Volume} = \frac{2}{21}  ......(1)

\frac{Diameter}{Height} = \frac{7}{3}........(2)

To find:

TSA of cylinder

Step:1

from eq (1)

\frac{2(pie)rh}{(pie)r^{2}h} =\frac{2}{21}

After cancellation

\frac{2}{r} =\frac{2}{21}

2r=42

r=21

Step:2

Diameter = 2r

= 2(21)

r = 42

Step:3

Using eq (2)

\frac{42}{h} = \frac{7}{3}

126=7h

h = 18

Step:4

We know,

r=21

h=18

TSA of cylinder= 2πr (h + r) Sq. units

= 2*\frac{22}{7} *21(21+18)\\

=2*\frac{22}{7} *21(39)

=2*22 *3*39

=44*117

TSA of cylinder = 5,148 sq, units
