let us assume it to be 2x=3x
now, ratio of the circles is
πr² of first circle/πr² of the second circle
=>π(2x)²/π(3x)²
π and π, x² and x² gets cancelled leaving 4/9
therefore, 4:9 is the ratio of their areas.
