if the ratio of the Base and the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is 4 : 5 and the perimeter is 48 cm. find its area

let the Hyp be 4x and the base be 5x. the by pythagoras theorem you get third side to be 3x.so

perimeter=3x+4x+5x=48. implies that x=4.

so the height=3x=3×4=12.
base=4x=4×4=16.

area=b×h÷2=12×16÷2=84sq.cm
