Let us consider two triangles, ΔABC and ΔPQR.
where AD and PS are altitudes.
Since ΔABC~ΔPQR,
ar(ABC)/ar(PQR) = AB²/PQ²
=> AD/PS × AB/PQ = AB²/PQ²
=> AD/PS = AB/PQ
=> AD/PS = 2/3.
