Given :-

If the ratio of the diagonal and breadth of a rectangle is 5:3.The measure of its length is 12 cm.

To Find :-

The Measure of its side and diagonal

Solution :-

We know that

D² = L² + B²

Let, diagonal be 5x and breadth be 3x

(5x)² = (12)² + (3x)²

25x² = 144 + 9x²

25x² - 9x² = 144

16x² = 144

x² = 144/16

x² = 9

x = √9

x = 3

Hence

Diagonal = 5x = 5(3) = 15 cm

Breadth = 3x = 3(3) = 9 cm

Solution

________________________________

» Let diagonal be 5x and breadth be 3x.

» It's length = 12 cm

________________________________

→ We know that :-

→ Diagonal² = Length² + Breadth²

→ (5x)² = (12)² + (3x)²

→ 25x² = 144 + 9x²

→ 25x² - 9x² = 144

→ 16x² = 144

→ x² = \dfrac{144}{16}

→ x² = 9

» If x² = 9

» then x = √9

» Value of x = 3

________________________________

Therefore,

Diagonal = 5x = 5(3) = 15cm

Breadth = 3x = 3(3) = 9 cm
