if the ratio of the length to the breadth of a rectangle be 5:3 and its perimeter is 144m ,find the length of the rectangle

L:b=5:3
Perimeter= 2*(l+b)= 2*8= 16 by assumption.actually it is 144.for 16 to become 144 multiply by 9.
16........144. ie16*9= 144
Take an length 5..........5*9=45 is the actual length of rectangle

the length of rectangle be 5x
then breadth " be 3x

perimeter of rectangle=2×(l+b)
144=2×(5x+3x)
x=144/16
x=9
length = 5×9=45
breadth= 3×9=27
