radius of smaller circle/ Answer:

4:49

Step-by-step explanation

giver ratio of the radii of cirlce=2:7

so,

radius of smaller circle/ radius of larger cirlce=2x/7x

radius of smaller circle=2x

radius of larger cirlce=7x

now,

area of smaller circle= πr^2

                                  =π(2x)^2

                                  =4πx^2

area of larger circle=πr^2

                                =π(7x)^2

                                =49πx^2

area of smaller circle/ area of larger cirlce=4πx^2/49πx^2

                                                                     =4x^2/49^2

                                                                     =(4x)(x)/(49x)(x)

                                                                     =4x/49x

therefore, ratio of the areas of the  the smaller circle to the area of the larger circle= 4:49
