Resistance in Voltmeter = x

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{3} = \frac{3 + x}{3x}

Now, Voltage at rest in the connection

50 - 10 = 40V

So, 40V = I × 8Ω

∴ I = 40/8

I = 5 A

Now, 10V = 5A × \frac{3x}{3+x}

30 + 10x = 15x

5x = 30

x = 30/5

x = 6Ω
