The refractive index of a color of light, depends on its wavelengths. as

E = hf, where E is the energy of the photon and f is the wavelength.

The shorter the wavelength more it refracts, as it contains more energy, imagine a lambo moving through a swamp, and the let the other be a ragged mini-cooper, as the Lamborghini has more speed it will, bend the most and the cooper would bend the least as it has less speed. And as we know violet has the shortest wavelength, so it has the highest energy, and thus bends or refracts the more.
