Given  :   relationship between Fahrenheit and Celsius is given by the following equation: F = (9/5)C + 32

To find : temperature which is numerically the same in Fahrenheit and Celsius

Solution:

F = (9/5)C + 32

Let say T is the temperature numerically equal in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

=> T = (9/5)T + 32

Multiplying both sides by 5

=> 5T = 9T + 160

=> -4T = 160

=> T = - 40

-40 °C  = - 40°F
