Answer:

This is very simple . Just use parallelogram law to calculate the resultant magnitude as well as direction.

magnitude will be

R= sqrt (p^2 + Q^2 + 2*P*Q*cos (alpha) )

and its direction will be at an angle of

Tan( beta) = (P Sin (alpha))/(Q+ P* Cos (beta))

beta will be angle between Q and the resultant.

Given that,

The resultant of two forces p and q acting at angle α.

Suppose we need to find the angle between q and resultant

The magnitude of resultant is

R=\sqrt{p^+q^2+2pq\cos\alpha}

We need to calculate the direction at an angle

Using formula of direction

\tan\beta=\dfrac{y}{x}

\tan\beta=\dfrac{p\sin\alpha}{q+p\cos\beta}

Hence, \beta will be angle between q and resultant.
