Hi Mate !!
Given equation :- kx² - 12x + 4 = 0
a = k
b = ( - 12 )
c = 4
• If the roots of the quadratic equation are equal then their discriminant is equal to Zero.
i.e, D = 0 ..... ( i )
and D = b² - 4ac ..... ( ii )
From ( i ) and ( ii )
b² - 4ac = 0
( 12 )² - 4 × k × 4 = 0
144 - 16k = 0
- 16k = - 144
k = 144/16
k = 9

k = 144/16
k = 9
