Hi !!!

I hope your question is to find 'a'

Here, Roots are real ... so by using discriminant

b² - 4ac = 0

( a + 1 )² - 4 × a × 1 = 0

( a² + 2a + 1² ) - 4a = 0

a² - 2a + 1² = 0

( a - 1 ) ( a - 1 ) = 0

a - 1 = 0

So, a = 1

Hope it helps!!!
