HELLO DEAR,
let first term be a,
common ratio be r,
GIVEN:-
ar = 2-------------( 1 )
AND,
a(1 - r) = 8
a = 8 - 8r
2/r = 8 - 8r
(2 + 8r²) = 8r
4r² - 4r + 1 = 0
4r² - 2r - 2r + 1 = 0
2r(2r - 1) - (2r - 1) = 0
(2r - 1)(2r - 1) = 0
r = 1/2 , r = 1/2 [ put in ----( 1 )]
a*1/2 = 2
a = 4
I HOPE ITS HELP YOU DEAR,
THANKS
