if the seed is soaked in water it will absorb te water so is that due to imbibition or osmosis???​

This is because of osmosis as during endosmosis the concentration of water around the surrounding medium of the cell is higher than the concentrationof water of the cell itself.

So more water enters than escapes.

So we can conclude the water is absorbed by the seed.

It’s due to imbibition. Living or dead plant cells absorb water due to Surface attraction.
