P is on x axis. Let it be (p,0).
A(3,4) P (p, 0) and B(14, -3) are on one straight line.
Slope of AP = slope of PB
So 4/(3-p) = 3/(p-14)
7 p = 65 => p = 65/7

We could also calculate it using other methods. This is simple.
