Answer:

Let the cost price be 100

therefore selling price is 100

SP of 1 shirt = 100/16 = 6.25

CP of shirt = 100/17=5.88

Profit = 6.25-5.88 = 0.37

Profit% = (0.37 / 5.88) ×100%

= 37/5.88%

= 6.30%

The profit percentage = 6.25%

Given:

The selling price of 16 shirts is equal to the cost price of 17 shirts

To find:

Find the gain or loss%.

Solution:

Let cost price of 1 shirt = 100 Rs

Cost Price of 16 shirts = 6 × 100 = 600 Rs

Cost Price of 17 shirts = 7 × 100 = 700 Rs

Given that selling price of 16 shirts is equal to the cost price of 17 shirts

Selling Price of 16 shirts = 1700 Rs

Here, The cost price of 16 shirts is less than its selling price

Then its will give profit

Profit gained = Selling Price - Cost Price

                       =  1700 - 1600 = 100

Profit percentage = (profit/C.P)×100

                               = (100/1600) × 100 = 6.25%

The profit percentage = 6.25%
