Given -

  • Simple Interest (S. I) =₹5000
  • Rate(R) = 10% per annum
  • Time (T) = 5 years

To find-

  • The Principal(P)

Solution -

We know that,

P =  \frac{100 \times S. I}{R×T}

By putting the values we will get -

P =  \frac{100 \times 5000}{10 \times 5}

P =  \frac{500000}{50}

P = 10000

Therefore the principal is ₹10,000

Related Formulae -

1)S. I=  \frac{P\times R \times T}{100}

2)P =  \frac{100 \times S. I}{R×T}

3)R =  \frac{100 \times S. I}{P×T}

4)T=  \frac{100 \times S. I}{P×R}
