if the side of a cube is halfed is there any change?why

let the side of original cube be a
then it's volume = a³
if the sides are halved,
side =
 \frac{a}{2}
then volume =
  { \frac{a}{ {2}^{3} } }^{3}
= a³/ 8
hence (new volume)/(original volume)
a³/ (a³/8)
= 1/8
therefore, if side is halved the volume of the cube will become one-eighth of the original volume
