Hello Friend!!!

Let side of square be x ,then area=x²

Increase by 8cm = x+8 , then new area = (x+8)²

Hence x²+120 = (x+8)²
=x²+120= x²+64+16x
=16x=120-64
= x = 56/16
= x = 3.5cm

Hope it helps!!!
