Let one side be s
Area = s^2

If one side is 2s
Area = (2s)^2 = 4s^2

Area will increase 4 times...

Hope this helps!!!

Hey mate..
========

Let, the side of the square be x

Then, the area of the square = (side)^2 = (x)^2 = x^2

Now,

The side of the square is doubled i.e. 2x

We will get,

Area of a square = ( side )^2 = ( 2x )^2 = 4x^2

So,

If the side of the square is doubled, the area of a square becomes 4 times its original area.

Hope it helps !!
