let the side of a square is x
then the area of square is (x)^2if the side of a square is increased by 5 cm
then the side of a square becomes (x+5)
so the area of new square formed is
(x+5)^2=x^2+25+10x
so by quadratic formula
D=b^2 -4ac
so the x=-5(1+√2)
but area cannot be negative so if becomes
x=5(1+√2)
then the area of square is (x)^2if the side of a square is increased by 5 cm
