Let, the side of a square be x then we know that the area of square = (side)² = x²

Now, given that : On increasing 25% the side will be :

x × 125/100

=> 5x/4

Now, area = (5x/4)² = 25x²/16

Increasing in Area :

[(25x²/16)-x²]/x² × 100

=> 9x²/16x² × 100

=> 9/16 × 100

=> 900/16 = 56.67%
