Let the side of square = x
Increased length = 8cm
Increased area = 120sq.cm
(x+8)^2 = x^2 + 120
=>x^2 + 64+16x = x^2+120
16x = 120-64
16x = 56
x = 56/16
x = 3.5 cm
Therefore, side of the square = 3.5 cm
