hey the answer is. ..

original = s × s

new = 3s × 3s

9 times more than the original area

Hey...

area of orginal square =

a {}^{2}
When side is tripled,
side=3a

so are becomes
(3a) {}^{2}
 = 9a {}^{2}
So the ares will be in the ratio
1:9
