now area of ∆ ABC = √3/4(side)²

=> 1/2*b*h = 9√3/2

=> 1/2*3*h = 9√3/2

=> h = (9√3/2)*(2/3)

=> h = 3√3

so, altitude of ∆ = 3√3 cm

By using Pythagoras theorem,

AB² = BD² + AD²

6² = 3² + AD²

AD² = 36 - 9

AD² = 27
