Given :

  • The side of equilateral traingle is increased by 10%.

To find :

  • Percentage change in the area of triangle =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the side of the equilateral triangle be x.

Now,

New side of equilateral traingle = x + 110/100 = 11/10x.

Area of old equilateral triangle = √3/4 x²

Area of New equilateral triangle = √3/4 × 121/100 x².

Increased Area = √3/4 × 121/100 x² - √3/4 x²

= √3/4x² (121/100 - 1)

= 21/100 × √3/4 x²

So,

Increased % in its Area = [(21/100 × √3/4 x²)/(√3/4 x²)] × 100

= 21.

Therefore, Increased % in its Area = 21%
