Let the side of square = xcm

Area of square = Side × Side

= x × x

 =  {x}^{2}  \\ increased \: in \: side \:  = x + 50\% \: of \: x \\  =  \frac{150}{100}  = 1.5x \\ Area \: of \: new \: square \:  = side \times side \\  = 1.5x \times 1.5x \\  = 2.25  {x}^{2}

increase\% \: in \: area =  \frac{diffrence}{original}\times 100 \\  =  \frac{2.25 {x}^{2} -  {x}^{2}  }{ {x}^{2} }  \times 100 \\  =  \frac{1.25 {x}^{2} }{ {x}^{2} }  \times 100 \\  = 125\%
