area of the square=side^2

so 625=(4x+5)^2

square rooting both sides

25=4x+5

25-5=4x

20=4x

x=20/4=5

side = 4x + 5 \\ area = 625 \\  {side}^{2}  = 625 \\ (4x + 5) {}^{2}  = 625 \\ 4x + 5 =  \sqrt{625}  \\ 4x  + 5 = 25 \\ 4x = 25 - 5 \\ 4x = 20 \\ x =  \frac{20}{4}  \\ x = 5
