Given: sides of a parallelogram are 9 cm and 4 cm

To find: the ratio of their corresponding altitude

Solution:

One Side of parallelogram = 9 cm

Let h be the height corresponding to base 9 cm.

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height = 9h

Other Side of parallelogram = 4 cm

Let H be the height corresponding to base 4 cm

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height = 4H

Thus,

9h = 4H

H/h = 9/4

Hence, the ratio of their corresponding altitude is 9:4.
