If the sides of a Square are doubled, what is ratio of the area of the original square to that of the new square

Let the side be " x " .
Original area = x² .

The side of square are doubled .

Now, Side = 2x .

Now Area =(2x)²= 4x² .

Ratio of areas = x² : 4x² = 1 : 4 .
