Let a be side of square.

Hence Area = a^2 ..1.

Since new side a' = a + 35% of a

= 135/100 a

= 27/20 a

Hence Area' = a'^2

= (27/20a)^2

= 729/ 400 a^2 ..2.

Increase % = (729/400 a^2 - a^2/ a^2) * 100

= 329/400 × 100

= 82.25 %.

Hope it's helpful to u.
