Given data : If the slant height of a frustum of a cone is 4 cm and radii of its two circular ends are 5 cm and 2 cm.

To find : Curved surface area of frustum if a cone ?

Solution : According to given data,

  • Radius, R = 5 cm
  • Radius, r = 2 cm
  • Slant height, h = 4 cm

Now,

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= π * h ( R + r )

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= 22/7 * 4 ( 5 + 2 )

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= 22/7 * 4 * 7

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= 22/7 * 28

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= 22 * 4

⟹ curved surface area of the frustum of a cone

= 88 cm²

Answer : Hence, curved surface area of the frustum of a cone is 88 cm². ( Answer :: A. 88 cm² )
