Correct Question :- If the slope of the line passing through A (3, m) and B (9, 1) is 2 then find the value of m. ?
Solution :-
we know that,
- slope of the line passing through (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) .
given that,
- x1 = 3
- x2 = m
- y1 = 9
- y2 = 1
so,
→ (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = 2
→ (1 - 9) / (m - 3) = 2
→ (-8) = 2(m - 3)
→ m - 3 = (-4)
→ m = (-4) + 3
→ m = (-1) (Ans.)
