If the speaker of the Lok Sabha wants to resign, she/he is required to send her/his resignation letter to the Deputy speaker.

The speaker can resign from the Lok Sabha at any time by writing the resignation to the Deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha.

Moreover, the speaker can be removed from the house only based on the resolution taken by majority of the members in the house.
