If the speed of a springboard diver decreases by half upon entering the water, by what percentage will his kinetic energy decrease?

Answer:

KE=(1/2)mv2

So if speed is halved, and everything else remains constant, the kinetic energy of the diver should reduce by 75%. Or in other words be 25% of it's original value
