Distance travelled = 300 km Let the original speed of train be x kmph Given that the speed of the train is increased by 5 km an hour. Hence the new speed is (x + 5) kmph Time taken to cover 300 km = 300/(x+5) Given that the time taken is 2 hours less when compared to the previous time. Since speed cannot be negative, hence the original speed of train is 25 kmph.
