GIVEN⤵️

Speed of the light in a medium :

1.5 * 10 ^8 m/s

To Find⤵️

Absolute refractive index of the medium

Solution⤵️

To find absolute refractive index of a medium ratio of the speed of light in a vaccume to speed of light in a medium is calculated

which is given by the formula,

n = c/ v

where;

n = refractive index

c= speed of light in vaccume

v= speed of light in medium

Substituting The values in the equation,we get

n = 3 * 10^8 / 1.5 * 10^8

n = 2

Therefore absolute refractive index of the medium is 2.
