√((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2),

therefore,distance between (12,5)&(X,3)is

√((x-12)^2+(3-5)^2),

given that ,(√((x-12)^2+4))^2=29,

=>(x-12)^2=25,

=>x-12=+/-5,

=>x=17or7
