Given :- If the standard deviation of chi square variate is 4, then value of mean and mode are ?

Answer :-

we know that,

  • variance = (SD)²
  • The variance of chi square variate is twice the mean.
  • The mode of chi square variate is 2 less than mean .{ As mean = df, mode = df - 2. }

so,

→ Variance = (SD)² = 4² = 16 .

then,

→ Mean = (16/2) = 8

therefore,

→ Mode = 8 - 2 = 6 .
