M2 + e========>M2 E°= +0.80V. The first metal has a negative reduction potential and so more reactive than Hydrogen, whose reduction potential is given as

H+ + e ====== > 1/2 H2 E°=0.00V.

So the metal with negative reduction potential will liberate H2- gas from Dil. H2SO4.

Here the metal with electrode potential of - 0.76V, is Zinc and with +0.80 V is Silver.

Zinc will liberate Hydrogen gas from dilute H2SO4 and Silver will not.
