If the starting letter of proper nouns are written in capitals, then why is the starting letter of "Earth" written in small letters? After all, there is only one earth in this universe, hence making it a proper noun.

Answer:

Earth is a proper noun and its first letter 'E' should be written in capital but some people write it small I don't know why. Maybe the readon is that Earth also means the ground which is a common noun. Maybe that is why people do this.

Thanks.
