ANSWER:

Rocks, valleys, mountains, volcanoes etc. are formed in the lithosphere.

EXPLANATION:

The outer most, rigid, rocky part of a planet is known as “Lithosphere”. The lithosphere of the Earth is formed by two major parts- the ‘crust’ and the ‘upper mantle’. Lithosphere is classified into tectonic plates. The upper most part of the lithosphere is also called “pedosphere”.

Thus mountains, rocks etc. are formed here and layer of soil represent Earth’s lithosphere. The lower part of the lithosphere is known as “asthenosphere”, it is hotter and weaker than the upper portion.

Answer:

Explanation:

Lithosphere is formed of the solid part of the earth that consists of the crust and the outer mantle. It is a rigid outermost shell of the terrestrial type of planet or a natural satellite which is by its rigid mechanical properties.

On earth, it is composed of the crust and the portion of the upper mantle which acts as elastically on times of scales that is thousands of years or more than that.
